The painters are scheduled to be in the sanctuary all week both weeks, so we will not be able to get in to re-connect our gear until Saturday, March 5. Further complicating the issue is the fact that I may be out of town until from Thursday though that Saturday afternoon. So we may have to schedule our re-connecting party for around 4:00 on Saturday. That's pretty inconvenient, so I will understand if people can't make it, but I can use all the help we can get.
Hope to see you all (or all minus Sometimes Susan) tonight at 7 at Capital Ale on Main Street!

The price of painting; the schedule of Lent.
The good news is, in addition to our new drum set, we're going to be looking at a fresh coat of paint in the sanctuary! So our gorgeous new sound will be matched by a gorgeous new sanctuary!
The bad news is, everything short of the pipe organ is going to need to be cleared out of the sanctuary for this to happen. And we're going to have to do it on Sunday after worship.
So here's the plan: After worship is done, those of us who can stick around will break down our gear, making sure to label each and every cable and connection before doing so (most of this we've already done). It should only take 30-40 minutes. We're going to leave it all down for about two weeks; I'll lead worship on Sunday the 27th on solo piano. It's something I've been meaning to do for a while now, to give you guys a chance to sit in the congregation and just worship for a change.
Then comes the big pain-in-the-butt day: Wednesday the 2nd will be a re-wire and re-mix everything day. I'm putting Greatest Hits in for the 6th in anticipation that we won't be able to practice much, if anything on the 2nd.
Then, just as we're ready to get back to normal: LENT COMES. As we have the past couple years, we'll be sharing the Wednesday service load with the Traditional music ministry, but not exactly alternating:
March 9: Traditional
March 16: Contemporary
March 23: Traditional
March 30: Contemporary
April 6: Contemporary
April 13: Traditional
This is to allow Cheryl to be out of town on the 6th.
SO! Tonight we're working on Sunday, and the band will be learning Charlie Peacock's "Down in the Lowlands," the Song of the Day this week.
